Twilight Movie New Trailer

Spunk_Ginxy
I've always been interested in the idea of vampires living in a human world undetected. I find the concept of this movie and the books very interesting. And the new HD trailer just looks really good. I guess if you've read the books it means something a bit different than if you just saw the preview. Worth a look imo :)

Twilight Book Series

I was minding my own business when my Entertainment Weekly (I know, it's trash but I can't help myself when I got it so cheap) came in a few weeks back and was introduced to the Twilight Series. I had heard about the movie coming out in Dec and was happy another vampire flick was coming out but didn't have a big drive to read the books.

Batman Kicks Spidey's Ass

So it's happened - The Dark Knight has officially outgrossed Spiderman 3 with a weekend total of over $155 million - making it the biggest box office opening ever.

That is freaking AWESOME! It's a movie that really deserves that spot of being number 1 - the movie was excellent! I'm glad Bale is in a movie that kicked ass - hopefully people will take notice when he changes to a smaller flick.

R.I.P Michael Turner - You will be missed

I just read this on another board and was entirely in shock. Michael Turner, one of my favorite artists, passed away June 27th after a long battle with cancer.

Below is a nice letter written by Jeph Loeb and posted on CBR.com.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=17010

I met him at last year's ComicCon - got a pic, his autograph and talked to him for a bit - he was a really nice man and very talented artist. He will be missed.

Dark Knight / Hellboy 2 Tasty Tidbit

"And make no mistake... these films matter. If you’re a fan of film... not just comic-book movies, and not just nerd genre movies, but film of any kind... then you owe it to yourself to see both THE DARK KNIGHT and HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY in the theater, on the best screen you can find. These are big theatrical films, huge in scale, obviously high-tech in terms of film craft, but they’re more than that...

Coffee As Health Food

Your daily cappuccino may seem like a guilty pleasure. But guess what? This guilty pleasure may actually help you live longer. That's right: Coffee, apparently, is a health food.

I know, you're probably thinking: Yeah, right. It seems like everything that's addictive--and pleasurable--is bad for you. Smoking: bad. Drinking: Bad, if you overdo it. Coffee? Good? What gives?

Squatting Monkeys Tell No Lies

  • Jun. 17th, 2008 at 9:04 AM

I was flipping through the channels last night and came across this comedy special on HBO - it was Dana Carvey's new show - which is called 'Squatting Monkeys Tell No Lies'. I hadn't seen him in a new stand up in so long that I thought it was an older one that was repeating - but then it was filled with all kinds of new and recent material - that was just plain funny.

At first I was just watching and lighting chucking but the longer I watched the more he made me laugh and the harder he made me laugh. I think it's worth a look :) - You can see clips at the links below.

Iron Man Kicks Off Summer Movie Season!!!!

  • May. 4th, 2008 at 11:56 AM
Serenity_Ginxy
I saw Iron Man on Friday - all I can say is it was really good. I mean it was non-stop even when there was no massive action - the stars kept the movies going like clockwork and the overall movie was just really well done. You couldn't tell when the costume began and where the cgi ended :) And there was some great snappy dialog (that got lost a little when the crowd was laughing). The music was great too :) - Loved every aspect of the movie

PS - Stay til the end of the credits because there is a snipit there - unfortunately if you're not a comic fan you won't really grasp what it's significance is but you'll be sure to be interested in why it's so significant and want to learn more :) - Marvel is lining it up so they are having crossovers of characters - so the new Hulk movie will have a short guest appearance of Tony Stark (Iron Man) etc etc - they are preparing for additional movies with multiple characters :) It's exciting that they seem to have a real plan and they are really calling out to both long-term fans and movie goers in general.

No Dark Knight preview - but a whole lot of other awesome previews :)

Summer Movie Season has officially begun and I'm excited!!!!

Not quite sure just how many posters are coming out for the Dark Knight but there have been a number of new ones surfacing over the last few days. Some are pretty high res so I just posted thumbnails to view.

Why So Serious just had a Scavenger Hunt - people that made it to the locations got to see a screening of the latest trailer. High quality version is supposed to be in front of Iron Man and online by Sunday :) Exciting!!!! More details on the batman-dark-knight.moviechronicles site.
